ABRF Online Workshop Series: Implementing Spatial Transcriptomics as a Core Service (Moderator: Anoja Perera)

October 29th 2-4pm EST: SLIDE-Seq (Organizer: Kate Hall, Stowers Institute)
November 5th 2-4pm EST: 10X Genomics Visium Spatial Gene Expression (Organizer: Gourab Bhattacharjee)
November 12th 2-4pm EST: Nanostring GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler (Organizer: Beth Nye)

The spatial organization of cells within a given tissue plays a crucial role in determining their overall function.  Driven by the importance of understanding this organization, spatial transcriptomics is quickly coming to the forefront of new Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) applications with the ability to map cellular gene expression back to a specific location within the tissue.  As the study of spatial transcriptomics continues to grow, it is imperative for core facilities and scientists to be aware of the methods available to make this work possible.

To address the growing interest in this area, ABRF is offering a three-part series dedicated to spatial transcriptomics. In this series, three methods that are currently being used by core facilities will be presented; namely, SLIDE-Seq, 10X Genomics Visium and Nanostring GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler. Attendees will receive practical advice to implement these methods in their cores. In depth information will be presented on considerations for a core setting, tissue preparation, sequencing and data analysis. At each session, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in discussion and have their questions answered by a panel of experts.

This will be a great opportunity to learn about this cutting-edge application!
