ABRF Chapter Programs - MWACD Program - Systemic Racism in STEM and Considerations for Shared Resource Facilities

SEPTEMBER 1, 2020

2:30 - 3:30 PM ET

More than two months after the death of George Floyd, Black Lives Matter rallies and marches continue across the United States; sparking renewed conversations about racism -- including in cores and shared resource facilities across the Midwest. As we reflect on our role in this system and what we can do to dismantle it as an organization and as individuals, we must listen to, learn from, and amplify the work and voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

In this panel, we will discuss ways in which systemic racism impacts BIPOC individuals in STEM and how cores/shared resource facilities can advance racial justice.
