The Center for Structural Biology Cryo-EM Facility at Vanderbilt University seeks a full-time Research Assistant to join the team. The Research Assistant in the Center for Structural Biology (CSB) Cryo-Electron Microscopy Facility is a key individual contributor responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient instrumentation operation, setting standard operating procedures, and training and assisting users responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of instrumentation, developing standard operating procedures, and training and assisting users. This environment provides the opportunity for a motivated individual to participate in and contribute significantly to stimulating professional research and teaching environment at the cutting edge of structural biology. This position requires coordination with other Staff Scientists in the Facility, including the Co-Directors, to ensure optimal operational efficiency. The Research Assistant reports directly to the Co-Directors of the CSB Cryo-EM Facility. The Cryo-EM Facility aims to advance biomedical science knowledge through high-resolution imaging and image analysis of biomolecular assemblies. The Facility's mandate is to enable state-of-the-art molecular electron microscopy experiments for all Vanderbilt investigators with biomedical research needs. The Facility houses 4 electron microscopes, including a Titan Krios G4 with Falcon3 and BioQuantum K3 direct electron detectors. This diverse environment is highly collaborative, working with structural biologists, cell biologists, engineers, and other University facilities with expanded electron microscopy equipment, including a Thermo Scientific Helios Nanolab G3 CX FIB-SEM with a Quorum PP3010 cryo system. There are opportunities for further specialization as the Facility expands from our current work with cryo-EM and in situ cryo-ET to include new technologies and instruments such as correlative light and electron microscopy and MicroED applications. Bioinformatics Specialist - University of Illinois at Chicago

Bioinformatics SpecialistThe Research Informatics Core (RIC) at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) has an open position for a full-time Bioinformatics Specialist with a background in biological sciences or informatics. NMR Facility Technical Director - University of California, Davis

The Core NMR Facility at the University of California, Davis invites applications for an NMR Facility Technical Director. The University job title will be 100% Academic Coordinator. The primary responsibility will be to oversee, maintain and troubleshoot the operation of 9 NMR spectrometers in the core NMR Facility, as well as to train and collaborate with researchers and provide assistance with experimental design, execution and interpretation of magnetic resonance data. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field in magnetic resonance is preferred. The appointee should possess expertise in magnetic resonance hardware, knowledge of cryo systems (helium liquefier and Bruker cryo-probe maintenance), electronics, and have the ability to maintain and repair NMR instrumentation. In addition, the appointee should have experience with both high-resolution NMR spectroscopy for liquids and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), as well as applications of NMR and MRI to chemistry, biology, and biomedical engineering, including knowledge of Bruker Topspin and ParaVision software, Varian VnmrJ software, and Bruker pulse programming.

Senior Research Scientist – Proteomics/Metabolomics| The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) - ARMI BioFab USA

The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) is an industry-led public-private partnership that was created to address the technical and workforce development challenges associated with the scalable, consistent, cost-effective manufacture of tissue engineered medical products (TEMPs). As part of its technical effort, ARMI is developing the Tissue Foundry, a scalable, modular, automated, and closed manufacturing platform with which it will support the development of scalable TEMP manufacturing processes according to Quality by Design (QbD) principles. A key component of QbD-based process development for TEMPs will be the Deep Tissue Characterization Center (DTCC) capable of deep cell and tissue characterization of in-process and final product samples via analytical techniques. Position DescriptionARMI is in need of a Research Scientist to carry out projects applying mass spectrometry-based analytical platforms to the deep characterization of a variety of cell types and TEMPs for the identification of Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs). CQAs will ensure appropriate product quality is maintained when transitioning existing manual tissue engineering processes to scalable, modular, automated, and closed manufacturing processes. The Research Scientist projects may include development of novel proteomic and metabolomic technologies or application of existing technology to address current challenges and may entail mass spectrometric analysis of cell lines, tissue samples, and conditioned culture media. The ideal candidate should be familiar with the entire metabolomics and/or proteomics pipeline (including sample preparation, LC and MS operation, data analysis) and must be able to conduct independent and creative research. Senior Scientist - NIAID

Director of Research Service Facility, Genome Research Core - RRC - University of Chicago

This position provides scientific leadership, management and day-to-day operations oversight of the Genome Research Core (GRC) in the Research Resource Center (RRC), which provides a centralized resource for high throughput technologies including instrumentation and expertise for gene targeting and editing approaches to cell lines and animal models, and for DNA, RNA and chromatin analyses including from bulk samples or single cells. Yale University - Cryo EM Facility Manager

Yale has an immediate opening for a Cryo-EM Facility Manager/Director at either the Associate Research Scientist or Research Scientist level. The successful candidate will provide scientific leadership, management, and day-to-day operation of Yale University’s new Yale Science Building (YSB) Cryo-EM Facility. The incumbent will collaborate with and support researchers from across the campus by providing support and guidance in experimental design, sample preparation, data collection, and computational image analysis.

The YSB facility houses a newly installed Glacios microscope equipped with a Gatan K2 camera and a Talos L120C microscope.
